A couple boating on Lake Braies - Zin Park Residence
Lake Braies

Fed by melting snow and clear glacier water, the lake glows in deep blue and turquoise hues. Framed by the Braies Dolomites, it radiates a magical atmosphere. Especially outside the high season, early in the morning or at dusk, when the world slows down, a special kind of magic lies over Lake Braies – and with a bit of luck, you may have it all to yourself.

Valle di Villgraten

The Valle di Villgraten, a peaceful side valley of the East Tyrolean Val Pusteria, is among the most authentic and untouched natural landscapes in the Alpine region. Traditional wooden houses dot the steep mountain meadows, telling of a simple, agricultural past. No ski resorts, no major constructions, no glaring neon lights – just pure authenticity. Instead, the focus here is on preserving nature. Valle di Villgraten is a true haven of tranquillity, straight out of a picture book.

Val Casies

In Val Casies, idyllic trails lead from one mountain hut to the next – always accompanied by stunning views and the tranquillity of the mountains. At 2,000 metres, the “Sentiero delle Malghe 2000” connects some of the loveliest huts: from Malga Tscharniet to Malga Kipfel, Malga Stumpf, Malga Kaser and Malga Kasermäder. Also highly recommended – the hike to Malga di Tesido.

Rifugio Pian di Cengia

High above, between the Croda dei Toni and Cima Una of the Sesto Sundial, the Rifugio Pian di Cengia sits at 2,528 metres. As the smallest and highest refuge in the Sesto Dolomites, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view. It can be reached from Rifugio Auronzo (approx. 3 h), Val Fiscalina (approx. 4 h), Dobbiaco (approx. 4.5 h) and Val Campo di Dentro (approx. 4.5 h). After a break at the hut, a short half-hour climb to the Cima Oberbachern (2,677 m) is well worth the effort – the view is unforgettable.

Rifugio Bonner

Some call the view from Rifugio Bonner at 2,340 metres “Alpine cinema”; others are simply left speechless. Up here, where time seems to slow down, you can enjoy the peace and the spectacular mountain panorama. The ascent begins in the Dobbiaco district of Candelle and leads you up to the hut. After a hearty break, it’s well worth continuing on to Monte Corno di Fana (2,663 m) – the perfect way to cap off an unforgettable mountain day.
